Course Overview

The Diploma in Supply Chain Management is a comprehensive two-year program that equips learners with the skills to plan, source, manufacture, deliver, and return goods and services efficiently. Grounded in best practices and current industry standards, this diploma covers end-to-end supply chain processes—from procurement and inventory control to logistics, distribution, and customer service—preparing graduates for roles in manufacturing, retail, logistics companies, and beyond. You’ll learn how to:

1. Analyze and design supply chain networks; map flows of materials, information and finances; and identify risk points.

2. Plan and execute procurement strategies—conduct supplier evaluations, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor relationships.

3. Control inventory using quantitative techniques (EOQ, ABC analysis) to balance stock levels against service targets and carrying costs.

4. Coordinate logistics and distribution, from warehouse layout and material-handling systems to route planning, freight consolidation, and last-mile delivery.

5. Use demand-planning methods and forecasting tools to match supply with customer requirements, minimizing stockouts and obsolescence.

6. Implement quality-assurance and compliance processes—ensure products meet regulatory standards, manage audits, and uphold ethical sourcing practices.

7. Leverage technology (ERP modules, Transportation Management Systems, Warehouse Management Systems) to gain real-time visibility and improve decision-making.

8. Manage returns and reverse logistics, incorporating sustainability initiatives such as recycling, repurposing, and waste reduction.

Throughout the course you’ll engage in case studies, simulation exercises and team projects, culminating in a capstone consultancy assignment and a three-month industrial attachment with one of VTCTI’s partner organizations. Graduates leave ready to step into roles such as Procurement Officer, Inventory Controller, Logistics Coordinator or Supply Chain Analyst—and are well positioned to advance into bachelor’s-level studies in Logistics, Operations or Business Management.

Exam Bodies:

TVET CDACC (Competency-Based Curriculum with Assessments)
